Hi folks!
I have an old white enameled bath tub with yukky brown stains all down the front of it. The inside was not as bad but it still had a dirty look to it. I have scrubbed and scrubbed and SCRUBBED that thing since I have moved into this house 6 years ago. I thought I had tried everything.
Tonight I decided to go online and try to find another solution (again). I started reading a thread that suggested using hydrogen peroxide. I tried...didn't work.
They said it works very good on brown stains left from drain cleaner. My brown stains where obviously not from drain cleaner.
One person had put that toilet cleaner worked so I tried it. They suggested using Lysol but I only had my trusty Dollar General stuff. I did not think for one second it would do anything ( i have even tried wet sanding it once with no effect!!)
I poured it down the front of my tub and rubbed it all over and left it for about 5 / 10 minutes. I went back with my scrubber (sponge on one side and scourer on the other) and scrubbed it.
My tub is white...and I mean WHITE!!!!
I did the same with the inside and I just cannot tell you how amazing it has worked. I wish I had taken a picture of it before I had done it as it was really, really bad.
So....I have found, tried and succeeded in getting a very yukky old enamel bath white again. I thought the only way was to get it re enameled.
Try it...it works a treat! Hope this helps some folk out there!
The stuff I used it the toiler bowl cleaner to the far right.
